The Booker T. Washington Legacy Builder Award
The moment has arrived! The Friends of Booker T. Washington National Monument are thrilled to announce the official launch of the Booker T. Washington Legacy Builder Award! Starting today, we're inviting our community to join us in honoring those who continue to embody Booker T. Washington's enduring legacy of excellence in education, health, agriculture, and humanitarian work.

We believe that Booker T. Washington's values are just as relevant today as they were during his lifetime, and now is the perfect time to celebrate the individuals and organizations making a real difference in these areas.

The Legacy Builder Award recognizes local champions who are advancing Booker T. Washington's mission in meaningful ways. If you know someone who is making strides in any of the following categories, we want to hear from you:

• Education: Those driving positive change in educational opportunities within our community.

• Health: Advocates working to promote health equity and foster good health practices.

• Agriculture: Individuals contributing to sustainable agricultural practices and agricultural education.

• Humanitarian Efforts: Leaders improving the wellbeing of others and promoting social welfare.

Nomination Process
The nomination window is now open! Applications will be available on the Friends of Booker T. Washington National Monument website starting October 26, 2024. The deadline for submissions is February 1, 2025. Awardees will be honored at the 2025 Booker T. Washington Legacy Annual Event on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Join us as we kick off this exciting initiative and shine a light on the incredible people making a difference in Franklin County and beyond. We're counting on your participation to help us recognize the true Legacy Builders among us!
