The Moneta Volunteer Fire Department is an all-volunteer public safety organization that provides fire and EMS services to the Bedford County side of Moneta and beyond. With a service area of 100 square miles and a permanent population of about 10,000 the department responds to over 350 calls for service annually. This population increases greatly in the summer! Our services are provided by about forty dedicated volunteers who serve from three stations utilizing eleven pieces of apparatus.
While the department does receive some funding from Bedford County and the commonwealth, two thirds of our annual budget is supported by donations. Please help support the department by attending some of our many fundraising events throughout the year. We also conduct home fire safety inspections, host children's birthday parties, give fire safety presentations and provide speakers for meetings.
